Position:

Senior Health Care Support Worker based at Biggart Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours:

34.02 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part time staff) without loss of earnings.

What you will do:

In your role as a health care assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide an excellent standard of care to our patients. You will work closely with colleagues to deliver patient centred focused care.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

  • Experience in a health care setting is essential as well as an SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • A flexible approach to shift patterns, including night duty, is required. Hours of duty will be 34.02 per week, equivalent to 0.95 WTE.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran may offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and other criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case by case basis following interview and pre employment checks. The salary advertised is based on a full time contract and must be pro rated for part time positions.
