Material Handler (FLD)

Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Material Handler to join our chemical processing manufacturing site. This role involves handling raw materials, packaging, and final products while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance in a hazardous materials processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Sample and analyse raw materials, reporting results in SAP.
• Inspect, offload, and document incoming raw materials and packaging deliveries using mechanical handling equipment such as counterbalance forklift.
• Report discrepancies in quantity or quality to planners/managers.
• Move materials on-site and operate tank farms (training provided) for distribution and offloading.
• Prepare and load final products for dispatch.
• Guide tanker drivers on safe working practices if required.

Qualifications

• Relevant material handling and warehousing experience.
• Current counterbalance forklift truck licence (external).
• Strong problem solving, communication, and adaptability skills.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a high hazard environment.

• Attractive working hours: Mon Thu 7:45am 4:15pm; Fri 7:45am 1:30pm.
• £16.32 per hour pay rate (£17.95 if moved to a 7 day day shift pattern).
• Overtime may be available.

• Own transport may be required due to site location in North Ayrshire.
