Job Description

HGV 1 Driver – Glasgow Cambuslang

Glasgow Cambuslang Investment Park – HGV Class 1

We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for ad hoc temporary roles in our depot in Cambuslang, Glasgow. The role consists of refrigerated deliveries to shops and stores, with 8 to 15 drops per day, using a tail lift and cages. Immediate starts for successful candidates.

Shift pattern available

  • Monday to Friday

Day pay rates

  • Monday – Friday £17.30 (overtime after 47.5 hrs £19.46)
  • Saturday £19.46
  • Sunday and Bank Holidays £25.95

Night pay rates

  • Monday – Friday £19.77 (overtime after 47.5 hrs £21.92)
  • Saturday £21.92
  • Sunday and Bank Holidays £28.41

30 minute break deducted per shift only.

Day to day duties will include the following:

  • Driving within the WTD and EU regulations and rules.
  • Preparing vehicles for delivery.
  • Completing vehicle checks.
  • Refueling vehicles.
  • Multi drop deliveries.
  • Inter depot and RDC deliveries.
  • Manual handling of trolleys.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of customer service and that orders are fulfilled on time and in full.

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:

  • At least 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • UK driving licence with a Cat C+E entitlement.
  • Digi & CPC card no more than 6 points for minor offences.
  • Immediate start for successful candidates.
  • Free on site secured colleague car parking.
