Clinical Services Manager – Imaging
Albyn Hospital, Aberdeen
37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £61,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Services Manager to join our Imaging department. The role requires an experienced Senior Radiographer with the ability to lead our Diagnostic Imaging team and support the Consultant Radiologists in delivering the service at Albyn hospital. Applicants must have a good understanding of IRMER regulations and the processes that should be in place to ensure radiation protection measures are adhered to.
In addition to clinical experience, we are looking for applicants to have a good understanding of managing the financial aspects of running a service and developing growth opportunities. The role is full-time, predominantly Monday-Friday, but may require occasional work in evenings or weekends and manager on call responsibilities. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties
- Develop and manage service delivery within your area of responsibility with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring effective deployment, utilisation and control of all resources, whilst providing a high quality, responsive, patient focused service.
- Contribute to the strategic, operational and business development of the hospital.
- Ensure that high quality, responsive Diagnostic Imaging services are delivered to meet the needs of all customers and the business.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with Radiologists ensuring clinical expertise matches the specialties of the Hospital and referring clinician needs, and ensure sessional use is maximised.
- Identify and recruit Radiologists in conjunction with the Senior Management Team (SMT), taking opportunities to widen the clinical expertise available in the departments.
- Formally meet (minimum annual) with Radiologists to discuss department development, clinical and operational issues.
Applicants Criteria
- Extensive experience working in an acute hospital setting in a Senior Radiographer post or equivalent.
- Previous experience within a Clinical Lead role.
- Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers/patients and situations.
- A Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Management / supervisory experience within a multi modality imaging department.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and make recommendations on data specific to the hospital to identify business development opportunities, change current practice, monitor and influence performance.
