Shop Volunteer (Till & Customer Service – Prestwick)
Our local British Red Cross shop offers a range of activities for volunteers: from sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing excellent customer service to donors and customers. This role is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.
We are currently looking for Till and Customer Service volunteers to help us in our shop.
If you have a positive outlook, enjoy speaking to new people and are confident in learning how to use a shop till, then this may be for you.
Till and Customer Service – Typical Activities
- Using the shop till to take payment for items
- Promoting Gift Aid to maximise fundraising potential
- Helping and advising customers
- Undertaking general activities in the shop
No experience is needed. Full training will be provided.
When can I volunteer?
A few hours during the week and weekend, as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we only ask that you agree on hours you can attend and inform us of any changes.

- No previous experience required.
- A warm smile and friendly outlook.
- Completion of basic training prior to starting.
