Position Details
Early Years Practitioner – Broughton Primary School Nursery
Salary: £30,188 – £34,452 Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks per year
Working week: Monday to Friday. Shifts: varying between the hours of 7.45am and 6.10pm (available on request).
Location: near school, purpose built centre opening in future, capacity up to 120 children.
Responsibilities
- Provide early learning and childcare to children aged 3-5 years.
- Work shift patterns within specified days and hours.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, staff and community.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, commitment, initiative, optimism and flexibility in working.
Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children, without conditions.
- Possession of a practice qualification in line with the attached job profile.
- Experience in forming good relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community.
- Capacity to undertake the required shift patterns.
Legal Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required and must be provided. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both pre employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
