Finance SAP Consultant

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Aberdeen – Bankhead Drive City South Office Park, AB12 4XX, Portlethen

Responsibilities

  • Understanding the business process and scenarios involved.
  • Participation in projects from pre-project stages to project delivery and support.
  • Resolution and investigation of incidents.
  • Ensure Finance department key objectives are understood and provide SAP best practice guidelines.
  • Delivery of solutions based on business requirements highlighted through change requests.
  • Providing functional and technical specifications.
  • Assistance to Integration, Basis, S&A, Functional and third-party consultants.
  • Key liaison role with SAP coordinators, business process owners and key users.
  • Assistance with training documentation creation.
  • Unit, integration and coordination of user acceptance testing.
  • Quality checks / peer group review of configuration.
  • Provide support for key interfaces.
  • Identify improvements to business processes and to existing non-standard solutions.
  • Data migration activities.
  • Ensure testing is executed to the correct levels for any required development/configuration and provide opportunities for improvement.
  • Provision of first- and second-line support to end users.

Qualifications

  • Good, demonstrable knowledge of SAP modules in an on-premises context: Finance, Controlling, Bank Accounting, Fixed Assets, Investment Management, and Project Systems.
  • Business process understanding with linkages to customisation.
  • Integration experience and knowledge with another module such as SCM / HR / PM.
  • Strong consulting background with ability to understand deliverables and articulate expectations with business clearly.
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Clear knowledge of SAP tables and applicable function modules.
  • Participation in SAP Finance and Controlling cycle implementations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage an extensive workload.
  • Attention to detail in unit testing and insistence on business UAT before any change is moved across the landscape.
