The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the service as an Occupational Therapy Team Lead (Band 7). You will provide leadership to a team of highly skilled occupational therapy staff and play a key role in driving service development and innovation across inpatient and community services.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • This is a permanent post working part time hours (25)
  • These hours will be worked during Monday to Friday
  • This post will be based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key responsibilities

The Team Lead will be responsible for the operational and professional leadership of a team of occupational therapy staff, ensuring the delivery of high quality services across six inpatient wards.

You will work closely with the Inpatient Service Manager/Lead Nurse, Senior Charge Nurses, and other management colleagues to support service delivery and continuous improvement.

A key aspect of the role will be leading the development of an innovative occupational therapy community service, identifying opportunities for service enhancement, and supporting the implementation of new ways of working to improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

  • Degree or recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy with current professional registration.
  • Significant post registration experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience managing or supervising staff.
  • Experience of service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Interest in leading and developing innovative occupational therapy services.
  • Creative and innovative approach to service delivery and improvement.
