Team Leader – Substance Misuse Recovery Service (Ref: 250935)

Substantive. Full Time – 36 hours per week.

Band 7 – Salary Range £52,845 – £61,466 per annum

Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum.

Relocation Assistance up to £8,000 available.

The Substance Misuse Recovery Service provides community-based, holistic and recovery-focused treatment services to people who are experiencing harms related to the use of drugs and alcohol across Shetland. This is a challenging opportunity for a Registered General or Mental Health Nurse with relevant management experience to lead, develop and deliver the Service with the aim of achieving a human rights based approach to a range of health, psychological, social and economic improvements for clients.

Responsibilities and qualifications:

  • Demonstrate experience in the management and delivery of evidence-based care to people experiencing substance use problems, including the management of controlled drugs.
  • Experience working in hospital and community-based primary care environments.
  • Experience in people management, development, systems and process management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current local and national policy and practice in relation to service user care and statutory obligations.
  • Lead, develop and deliver the Service, manage the delivery of evidence-based interventions (clinical and psychological), and work collaboratively with local authority and third sector colleagues.

Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment.
