Creche Project Worker ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Salary: £23.52 per hour

Hours: 0 hour contract

We are looking for a motivated and creative Project Worker to join our Community Learning and Development team.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to support and deliver child centred, innovative community based creche provision across the city, supporting ESOL and Family learning classes provided by the Community Lifelong Learning ESOL Team.

As a Creche Project Worker you will work alongside community members, partner organisations and colleagues to develop and maintain safe and enriching provision for children attending our creches. You will support staff and ensure safety and quality across all provisions. This role supports New Scot families with community participation, inclusion and capacity building. Candidates are expected to travel across the city.

Key Responsibilities

We deliver our classes across Edinburgh aiming to reach out to deprived areas. Though our timetable changes we currently require staff at the following locations and times:

  • Tynecastle Community Wing, Tynecastle High School (Tuesday lunchtimes, Thursday mornings)
  • West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre (Tuesday mornings, Thursday mornings)
  • Leith Community Centre (Monday mornings)
  • Goodtrees Neighbourhood Centre (Monday mornings)
  • South Queensferry Community Centre (Tuesday mornings)

Pre employment Checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
