Quality Control Coatings Inspector

Location: Rosyth, Fife

Role Type: Full time / Fixed Term Contract – 18 Months

Shape the future of naval engineering with Babcock – a position on our Rosyth site working on the UK’s Type 31 Frigate programme, supporting national defence and maritime security.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Inspection Test Records (ITRs) and maintain completion records in CMS.
  • Coordinate third party inspections and manage inspection schedules.
  • Support the Quality Manager in achieving project wide quality and governance objectives.
  • Inspect structural and piping coatings in a fast paced shipbuilding environment.
  • Liaise with Lloyds Register and other verification bodies to ensure compliance.

Essential Experience

  • In depth understanding of coatings inspection and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control within coatings.
  • Ability to assess and assure the quality of work by production teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • ICORR Level 2 in Thermal and Acoustic Insulation – Preferred.
