Job Description

To support the day to day operation of the Coffee Shop kitchen by preparing and presenting food to a consistently high standard. Contribute to delivering an efficient, safe and well organised kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality, hygiene and service at all times.

Key Result Areas

  • Prepare and cook menu items in line with company standards, recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Support the smooth running of the kitchen during service, ensuring timely delivery of food
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front of house teams to ensure an excellent customer experience
  • Assist with set up, service and close down procedures

Food Preparation & Standards

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control
  • Follow all food hygiene, safety and allergen procedures at all times
  • Complete daily records including cook safe logs, temperature checks and cleaning schedules
  • Ensure all ingredients are handled and stored correctly to minimise waste and maintain freshness
  • Support with basic food preparation and menu item execution
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with hygiene regulations
  • Assist with stock rotation and storage (FIFO principles)
  • Report low stock levels or issues to the Coffee Shop Manager or supervisor
  • Support with receiving and checking deliveries as required
  • Promote safe and efficient working practices within the kitchen

  • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues during busy service periods
  • Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Be proactive in identifying issues and supporting solutions
