Bank Lecturer – Counselling

Location: Perth, Scotland

Salary: £41,833 – £50,359 per annum, pro rata (pay award pending 01 September 2026)

Type: Part time, Fixed Term, 1 year; Variable Hours per week

UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

We are currently looking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified individual to the post of Bank Lecturer in Counselling. Applicants will hold a diploma in Person Centred counselling (HE) and psychotherapy with significant Person Centred experience or have an equivalent qualification. The successful candidate must be COSCA and/or BACP Accredited.

Responsibilities

You will deliver teaching in all aspects of Counselling from COSCA to HNC/HND Counselling (levels 7 & 8). Experience of developing and delivering training or teaching would be beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma in Person Centred counselling (HE) and psychotherapy with significant Person Centred experience or equivalent qualification.
  • Cosca and/or BACP accredited.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, the ability to relate well to others and work as part of a team.
  • Good planning and organisational skills, ability to use own initiative, and self motivated.
