About the Role
The Senior Programme Manager will play a leading role in shaping and driving SPT’s portfolio of strategic projects and programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to work with senior leaders and sponsors across the organisation to turn priorities into ambitious, well-governed and deliverable programmes that make a real impact. You will provide leadership across the programme management function, ensuring projects are prioritised, resourced and reported effectively in support of SPT’s objectives. You will create a joined up view of the portfolio, bringing clarity to priorities, timescales, dependencies, risks and resource requirements, while also driving continuous improvement and embedding strong standards, tools and methodologies.
About You
We are looking for a strong and credible leader who can operate across multiple priorities, maintain oversight of a complex portfolio, and keep a clear focus on SPT’s wider priorities. You will have previous experience of managing multi-projects/programmes with substantial scope, risk and organisational impact, while leading your team by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and driving high performance. You will have the leadership presence and judgement to lead teams through change, work confidently across organisational boundaries, and manage competing demands while maintaining delivery to a consistently high standard. Alongside this, you will be an excellent communicator and negotiator with strong organisational skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders both internal and external to SPT. A Programme/Project Management qualification such as MSP, APM or PRINCE2 is essential, and a degree in Business, Project Management, Technology or a related discipline is desirable.
Working Hours & Location
Full time hours will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post. SPT currently operates an informal hybrid scheme of 3 days in office/2 days working from home. You will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. Please note, this position falls into the low risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to for cause testing procedures.
