Opportunities currently exist within both project based and tender planning roles at our Maxim Eurocentral Head Office and at various locations throughout Scotland.

What you’ll be doing

Project Based

  • Preparing monthly progress updates and communicating the revised Contract Programme including monthly progress reporting to Planning Lead and Site Team.
  • Developing methods of construction, sequencing and programme logic.
  • Preparing Stage Programmes and supporting information in accordance with the project requirements and issuing for review.
  • Reconciling direct and subcontract plant & labour along with major materials and supporting Project Controls.
  • Assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance and safety.

Win Business Based

  • You will work with the Planning Lead & Bid Manager to provide the planning function for a wide range of civils tenders and throughout the project planning life cycle.
  • Assist with identifying scope, constraints, risk and contract requirements.
  • Developing key methods of construction, temporary works requirements, sequencing and programme logic.
  • Interfacing with third parties and supply chain to develop proposals.
  • Identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme.
  • Establishing and agreeing construction outputs and working hours with appropriate Estimator.
  • Communicate the plan to Lead Planner and senior management at Tender Settlement Meetings.
  • Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including tender programmes, planning philosophy, presentations and reports.
  • In addition, supporting the Project Based planning requirements on live projects.

Who we’re looking for

  • Operational experience (typically site engineer to sub agent) together with previous significant experience of planning services in small to medium sized projects within the construction industry.
  • The role would also suit someone wishing to transition from an operations role into a planning role where appropriate training will be given.
  • An understanding of construction methods, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
  • Use of planning techniques with experience of using planning software such as Primavera P6, Elecosoft Asta and / or Microsoft Project. Appropriate training will be given where required.
  • An understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring.
  • An understanding of delay, risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning programming.
  • An understanding of various forms of tender & contract documents, preferably with some NEC4 experience.
  • Effective communication, engagement, motivation & leadership skills to drive change and positively impact the business.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HND or relevant experience based skills
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Team player
