Staff Nurse – Critical Care

Job Description

About the role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The role requires a live NMC UK pin. Critical Care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital incorporates a purpose built Intensive Care Unit (2019) and one of the busiest High Dependency Units in Scotland located adjacent to each other to create a combined critical care area. This expansion has created exciting opportunities for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our team.

Registered Nurses will work in a fast paced critical care area caring for both emergency and elective patients across a variety of medical and surgical specialities. The successful candidate will deliver person centred care to critically ill patients with one or more organ failures requiring specialist support and closer nursing observations, from admission to discharge.
