Job Title

Pupil Support Assistant – fixed term until 29/06/2027

Salary and Hours

Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 (pro rata for part time and sessional)

Hours: 15 per week, 39 weeks sessional

The hours are 15 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 10.15am to 1.30pm and Friday 9.30am to 11.30am.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a pupil on a one to one basis to meet their educational, care and welfare needs.
  • Assist the pupil to access the curriculum effectively.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the school team.

School Context

Canal View Primary School serves the community of Wester Hailes and is organised into fourteen classes from P1-7 and a nursery offering 64 full time places.

Pre Employment Checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. The unconditional offer of employment and commencement will be subject to the outcome of both of these pre employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
