Overview

ERM is looking for a motivated, hands on Contaminated Land & Remediation Consulting Associate to join our Site Investigation and Remediation team in the UK. The role involves field and office work across the region, with increasing responsibility for task and project management duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise contractors and undertake routine monitoring during site investigations.
  • Conduct regular field work: walkovers, logging soils, soil and groundwater sampling, supervising and managing contractors on site.
  • Provide office support: data analysis, manipulation and presentation, reporting.
  • Produce environmental desk studies, site investigation and verification reports from office and site-based work.
  • Assist in fee proposal preparation for future work.
  • Receive training to develop skills in managing small to medium projects, including financial management.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Appetite for working outdoors; willingness to travel regularly and spend majority of time away from home.
  • Previous experience in supporting investigation, risk assessment, or environmental assessment work, with exposure to fieldwork supervision in an environmental or water consultancy.
  • Experience on active industrial sites with advanced safety cultures or in remote locations preferred.
  • Preferable qualification to degree level in environmental sciences, hydrogeology, geology, geochemistry or chemistry; non degree qualified with relevant experience also considered.

Location & Travel

The role will be largely based in the field/on client sites. Candidates must be willing to travel regularly as required.

Personal Requirements

Full UK driving licence is an essential requirement.
