Senior Health Care Support Worker – Cardiology Ward, Royal Hospital for Children

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dynamic and approachable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is prepared to participate in ongoing learning.

Working Pattern

  • Part time role for 34.5 hours per week.
  • Hours worked rotationally: day shifts and night shifts over 7 days.
  • Based at the Royal Hospital for Children.
  • Salary pro rata for part time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within Ward 1E, a 14 beded inpatient ward providing national cardiology care for children and young people across Scotland, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering high quality patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Previous child care experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training and become competent within 6 months in:
    • Recording vital signs
    • Pressure area care
    • Nasogastric feeding
    • Gastrostomy feeding
    • Moving and handling
