Job Description
Musician/Teacher (Part-time) (Woodwind – ideally Clarinet)
Music education and community engagement with Big Noise Raploch & Fallin, Stirling. This role supports children’s musical development through instrumental lessons, general musicianship sessions, group teaching, home visits, and community performances.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instrumental lessons and group teaching in the after school programme.
- Provide general musicianship sessions and conduct performances within communities.
- Coordinate and participate in home visits to support individual learning.
- Align teaching methodology with the Big Noise programme and develop in additional musical areas if required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A degree in music or an equivalent qualification.
- Professional performance experience on a woodwind instrument, preferably clarinet.
- Demonstrated success in teaching children and young people on a specialist instrument.
- Ability to work with large and varied groups of children and young people.
- Commitment to the benefits of the social programme and belief in music’s impact on community change.
Employment Details
- Temporary contract spanning 28 hours per week during the school term (42 weeks).
- Additional 14 hours during school holidays; exact days Monday-Thursday to be agreed.
- Commitment to PVG check.
