The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse within the Endoscopy Unit at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, a purpose built department equipped with state of the art facilities. Demand for endoscopic procedures continues to grow year on year, creating an exciting, busy and often challenging environment. You will be fully supported in your professional development while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.
You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post. This post is not eligible for sponsorship in line with current Home Office requirements.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- This is a part time post for 12 hours per week
- The post is based within the Endoscopy Unit at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
- You will be required to demonstrate flexibility, working within a service that currently operates over a five day week. There is also an expectation to engage in multi site working across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, where necessary to meet service needs.
- Please note that the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities
- As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for pre assessment and the provision of care to patients attending for both day case and inpatient endoscopy procedures.
- This includes assessing patients and delivering a high standard of nursing care through to discharge.
- The role also involves developing skills to assist Medical and Nurse Endoscopists within the scope rooms.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required
- Registered Adult Nurse with the ability to fulfil the criteria outlined in the job description.
- Previous experience within the endoscopy or day surgery environment would be a definite advantage.
- You will receive ongoing support to develop your skills and knowledge within this specialist area.
