NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. Swap the stresses of urban living for the relaxed Highland way of life in Fort William, an outstanding area of natural beauty and the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’. The town sits at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain and offers a superb lifestyle for those who enjoy fresh air and outdoor activities.

We are looking for a qualified Sonographer, experienced in General, Gynaecology and small parts, to join our small friendly team. Vascular and MSK experience is desirable, but not essential.

You will be responsible for participating in the day to day running of the Ultrasound Scanning service at The Belford Hospital, Fort William, and at Broadford Hospital, Skye, in conjunction with the existing Sonographers. The role involves managing the service at both locations, providing cover for emergencies, and contributing to a dynamic and challenging workload in a busy rural general setting.

What we’re looking for:

  • HCPC-registered Radiographer or relevant professional qualification
  • Postgraduate CASE accredited qualification in medical ultrasound
  • Demonstrated clinical competence across a range of ultrasound examinations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to service delivery and staff development

The successful candidate may be subject to a relocation allowance.

Please note we anticipate a high level of interest in this position and may close the vacancy early once a sufficient amount of applications are received. Therefore, please make sure you complete and submit your application at an early stage.
