Overview

The Program Manager (Automotive Microcontroller Product Line) will lead large multidisciplinary engineering teams through the NXP New Product Introduction (NPI) process to develop cutting edge embedded processor solutions for automotive applications. The role involves engaging global R&D, Design, Software, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams to define schedules and resourcing, anticipate and overcome issues, and positively impact financial metrics such as gross margin and EBITDA.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through the complete NPI lifecycle, from concept and definition through hardware and software development to final production ramp up.
  • Engage global R&D teams to achieve on time delivery with world class quality.
  • Partner with R&D, Design, Software, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams to define schedules, allocate resources, and manage deliverables.
  • Anticipate, track, and mitigate risks and issues to maintain schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Drive product performance against key competitive differentiators, including manufacturability, price, power, software, die size, and system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with cross functional teams and senior management to resolve issues and align priorities.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience in semiconductor, electronics, or automotive industry.
  • Strong leadership and experience managing complex technical projects with hardware and software components.
  • Technical background in MCU/ASIC design and familiarity with embedded processor architecture.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and demonstrated risk and issue management capabilities.
  • PMI/PMP certification desirable but not required.
  • Understanding of key product differentiators, including manufacturability, price, power, and system performance.
  • Knowledge of ISO26262 and ISO21434.
  • Experience bringing new products to market on time, within budget, and meeting planned gross margin and yields.
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to motivate and influence cross functional teams, manage escalations, and drive process improvement.
  • Analytical mindset with critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
