Job Description

The Vacancy

As the Assistant Manager you will be supporting the manager in the day to day running of all areas of the business. This role includes receiving donations, organising collections from private houses and other locations, processing and delivering goods to local SA shops, selling on the premises or redistributing them. You will also offer repair and reuse services to divert goods from landfill.


This is a very hands on role. You will respond to queries from customers, head office, and staff. You will be responsible for opening and closing the centre and involved in recruitment and training of volunteers and staff.


Responsibilities


  • Support daily operations under the manager’s direction.


  • Receive and process donations; organise, collect, and distribute items.


  • Provide repair and reuse services to the community.


  • Respond promptly to queries from customers, head office, and team members.


  • Open and close the centre safely and efficiently.


  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and staff.
