Job Summary

You will be part of a Waste Water Operatives team working in the Dunkeld, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy area. Your role will involve monitoring and maintaining wastewater treatment processes, recording data, producing reports and performing routine maintenance to keep the site running smoothly. You may also drive the tanker to maintain public and private septic tanks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain treatment processes – from sedimentation to filtration.
  • Record key data, file reports and analyse sample test results.
  • Recommend improvements to processes based on observations.
  • Oversee regular maintenance to keep the site running efficiently.
  • Drive the tanker to service septic tanks around the area.
  • Participate in a standby rota for out of hours work.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working independently and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Attention to detail – accurate recordings and adherence to health and safety.
  • Ability to spot changes, trends and solve problems.
  • Computing skills – comfortable using new computer systems.
  • Reliable and punctual with a zero risk attitude to health and safety.

Nice to Have

  • Mechanical knowledge to identify problems before they arise (training provided if required).

Salary & Contract

Grade 4 – starting salary of £31,640. Performance driven pay progression allows movement up to £36,460. The role is subject to pre employment screening, including referencing, criminal record checks and licence checks.
