Overview
Ward 33 is a 23 bed orthopaedic trauma ward. It is a busy, fast paced, forward thinking ward within a diverse directorate, working collaboratively across the Orthopaedic Department. Our patient population ranges from frail and elderly patients with delirium and acute medical conditions to younger patients with varying orthopaedic needs and complex social backgrounds.
Role Responsibilities
Successful applicants will join a highly motivated and dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to delivering the highest standard of care and continuously improving patient outcomes. The post includes rotational shift working, covering day and night duty in line with service needs. Although based in Ward 33, there may be opportunities to gain experience across the Orthopaedic department, which includes an elective orthopaedic ward and a dedicated fractured neck of femur ward.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop clinical skills, experience multidisciplinary working, and contribute meaningfully to the care of a complex and rewarding patient group within a supportive team environment.
Applicants must be able to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate the resilience required to cope with the constant and sometimes competing demands of a busy acute ward environment. Excellent communication skills are essential to facilitate timely admissions and participate in discharge planning to maintain patient flow.

Qualifications & Experience
Candidates with experience or a genuine interest in delivering person centred care and an acute clinical background would be advantageous; however, full training and support will be provided. Subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment, candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Non UK or Irish nationals must confirm their right to work in the UK.
