The role
Position for an experienced Registered Nurse as a Charge Nurse within Ward 11 – Acute Medicine/Respiratory at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Lead the nursing team, support assessment, planning and delivery of specialist care, and contribute to improved patient outcomes using the Excellence in Care framework.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Full time, permanent. Shift Pattern – Rotational. Base location – Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist care in a dynamic acute medical environment.
- Leading and engaging the clinical team to enhance the patient journey and patient experience.
- Contributing to positive clinical outcomes through the Excellence in Care framework.
- Working autonomously while also providing leadership to the ward team.
- Supporting the Senior Charge Nurse with operational tasks, including
- Workforce efficiency
- Financial oversight
- HR processes
- Applying quality improvement methodology and demonstrating innovation and creativity in organisational practice.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- Post registration experience in acute medical care is essential.
- Knowledge of respiratory patient management is desirable.
- Must hold an active NMC UK PIN (applications without this will not be considered).
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, vision, and experience in quality improvement.
