Job Description

Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit a HGV 1 Drivers to help support clients in the Newport area.

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday roughly 45+
  • Weekends also available only if requested.

Salary:

  • Days – £17.93ph inclusive of holiday pay

The Role:

  • Tramping
  • General Haulage HGV 1 vehicles.
  • Mainly trunking and trailer swaps, some curtain work maybe necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
  • Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
  • To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:

  • Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat C+E licence.
  • Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card.
  • Must hold a valid Digital tacho card.
  • Must have at least 6 months experience!
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good customer relations.
  • Have a safe driving record.
  • No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
  • No DRs, INs or DDs offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
