Salary: FC10 £57,196.54 to £62,583.94 per year pro rata. This post attracts a £9,000 (non-contractual and temporary) market supplement which has been applied in response to evidenced market pressures

Working Pattern: 36 Hours per week

Location: Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes with blended home working

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Fife Assessor Service as a Divisional Assessor. The role will be pivotal in driving professional training in the Service as well as the Assessor Information Notices/Civil Penalties process.

The job role:

  • To be responsible for the efficient work allocation, co-ordination and training of technical staff undertaking property surveys and valuations throughout Fife for the purposes of compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List.
  • Taking a lead role in the Service for the survey and valuation of properties of a more specialist nature.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Educated to SCQF Level 9 which includes a degree or equivalent.
  • Qualified to full professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS)
  • Practical working knowledge of the legislation and case law governing Council tax and Non-Domestic Rating
  • Ability to travel to various locations throughout Fife

Pre-employment Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership / Basic Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland.
