Depot Manager (Site-Based)

£45,000 – £50,000 (DOE)

Location: Glasgow

The Opportunity

This is not your typical operations role. We’re looking for a high calibre Depot Manager to take full ownership of a key site in Glasgow – driving performance, leading from the front, and embedding operational excellence day to day.

This is a hands on leadership position where you’ll have the autonomy to shape how the depot runs, build a strong team culture, and continuously improve processes. If you enjoy making a tangible impact within a fast paced environment, this role offers both challenge and opportunity.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take full responsibility for the day to day running and performance of the Glasgow depot:

• Leading and managing the depot team to ensure smooth, efficient operations
• Overseeing warehouse, transport, yard, and administrative functions
• Ensuring high standards of service, accuracy, and on time delivery
• Monitoring and improving stock control, dispatch processes and workflow efficiency
• Delivering training, coaching and development for team members
• Reviewing operational processes – identifying improvements and implementing best practice
• Managing performance, addressing challenges and maintaining a positive working environment
• Ensuring compliance with company procedures, health & safety and operational standards

You’ll be working within a fast paced, reactive, trade focused operation, where:

• Orders are placed late into the day for next day delivery
• Service, accuracy and responsiveness are critical
• The depot operates under consistent pressure to meet customer demand

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Is currently a Depot Manager (or similar) with strong operational credibility
• Enjoys taking ownership of a site and driving performance improvements
• Builds strong, motivated teams and leads by example
• Is naturally solutions focused (how do we make this work?)
• Is confident challenging existing ways of working and driving changeThrives in a fast paced, hands on environment

You’ll Need

• Proven experience managing depot or logistics operations
• Strong leadership across multi functional teams (warehouse, transport, yard, admin)
• Solid understanding of stock control, dispatch and service delivery
• A hands on, adaptable and resilient approach
• Strong organisational and problem solving skills
