About the role

Are you a commercially minded analyst who enjoys turning data into clear insight and practical actions? We’re looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Analyst to support our Commercial team across projects helping ensure robust reporting, strong governance, improved cash performance, and contract compliance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of project delivery, partnering with Commercial Managers and project teams to strengthen processes, improve efficiency, and support better decision making across the Power business.

The role:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Analyst, you’ll assist the Commercial Manager and wider commercial team with a wide range of commercial and reporting activities. You’ll help maintain compliance with company procedures and policies, support continuous improvement, and encourage smarter, more efficient ways of working.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the Commercial team across projects with system information, reporting guidance and data insight
  • Flagging potential issues and opportunities early, helping teams resolve them proactively
  • Ordering information and systematically checking data using the Finance WBS
  • Actively supporting mid-month and month-end processes
  • Assisting projects with AFP creation and supporting opportunities to maximise incoming cash
  • Reviewing financial data to support contract compliance and margin optimisation
  • Undertaking mini-audits to identify and rectify issues ahead of client audits
  • Supporting the appraisal of estimates and forecasts to ensure alignment with the contract
  • Producing high-level reports for senior stakeholders across projects
  • Assisting with project cashflow forecasting
  • Analysing rates and prices, including support with variations and/or compensation events where required
  • Supporting system development to ensure reporting tools provide the right information for analysis
  • Preparing internal reporting, commercial progress updates and financial reconciliations
  • Completing ad hoc tasks to support the wider commercial team with internal/client information

Who we’re looking for

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Commercial and/or Data Analysis role
  • Strong Excel capability and confidence working with large data sets
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities
  • Confidence producing clear reports and supporting project teams with accurate insight

Desirable

  • Strong teamwork and a positive, proactive approach
  • Commercial awareness and customer focus
  • Ability to recognise opportunities and risks, and support solutions focused thinking
  • Experience supporting forecasting, cost/value reporting, cashflow, or audit readiness in a project environment
