The role

As a Domestic Assistant within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, clean and welcoming environments for patients, staff and visitors at Renton Integrated Healthy Living Centre. Band 2 roles are not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.

All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

Part Time, Permanent
Base Location: Renton Integrated Healthy Living Centre
Shift Pattern: Monday – Tuesday, 5 pm to 7:30 pm / Wednesday, 5 pm to 7:12 pm

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a high quality domestic cleaning service across clinical and non clinical areas
  • Undertake cleaning duties including mopping, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning sanitary areas
  • Ensure all waste is correctly managed and disposed of in line with procedures
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products and other consumables
  • Follow infection control procedures and adhere to cleaning schedules at all times
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals in line with training and manufacturer guidance
  • Complete all required documentation and report any faults or issues to the supervisor

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

  • Ability to follow instructions and work to set cleaning schedules
  • Good understanding of hygiene and infection control principles or willingness to learn
  • Flexible approach to duties and daily routines in a busy healthcare environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training, including COSHH, infection control and manual handling
  • Previous cleaning or domestic experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment safely, including mechanical equipment where required
