Rehabilitation Specialist – Glasgow Hospital
Position: Permanent, Part time (18 hours per week, up to £27,985.32 pro rata per annum depending on experience)
Role Overview
The Rehabilitation Specialist will deliver Nuffield Health Rehabilitation programmes using the Nuffield Health pathway. The role involves remote (digital) and in person facilitation of exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating, and goal setting to aid participant recovery.
Responsibilities
- Organise and run rolling 12 week rehabilitation programmes.
- Facilitate and deliver live stream and in person group exercise classes for participants with varying abilities.
- Promote self directed activity using pre recorded on demand classes and a journal to aid participants in managing their condition after the programme.
- Adjust exercises and intensities based on participant progress and performance.
- Identify deterioration in participants and, if necessary, initiate internal escalation processes within specified timeframes, ensuring accurate outcome data capture.
- Engage in weekly 1 to 1 telephone conversations with each participant to coach on short and long term goals, understand restrictions, monitor progress, provide emotional wellbeing support, and empower self directed activity.
Qualifications
- Level3 Personal Trainer qualification (essential).
- Previous experience as a Rehabilitation Specialist (preferred).
- Understanding of rehabilitation concepts.
- BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation (desired, not essential).
- Good English communication and numeracy skills.
