Job Title: UX Designer (12 Month FTC). End date: Thursday 11 June 2026. Salary Band: £61,344 – £68,160. Location: Edinburgh. Hours: 35 hours, full time. Working Pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week on site.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end user experience, crafting a cohesive journey with a central design system.
  • Bring designs to life using prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, Figma, Axure, and Adobe XD.
  • Balance business requirements with user needs, gathering research and rationalising designs for stakeholders.
  • Diplomatically push back when necessary to advocate for the customer.
  • Adapt designs to technical constraints across platforms while guiding for the best possible end user experience.
  • Promote inclusive and accessible design for users of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in User Experience or Interaction Design.
  • Strong experience as an Interaction Designer or UX Designer; a visual design background is also acceptable.
  • Full ownership of Interaction Design projects.
  • Excellent prototyping and layout skills, able to articulate clearly to internal customers and development teams.
  • Comfortable using existing design systems and proactively recommending improvements.
  • Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative research and apply insights to the design process.
  • Experience working in a complex landscape, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong ability to see designs through to delivery, collaborating with developers to ensure specifications are met.
