Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde for a Band 5 Staff Nurse with relevant experience, preferably within a theatre, surgical or anaesthetic environment, to join the Nurse Led Pre Operative Assessment Team within the North Sector. In this role you will be actively involved in the provision of direct patient care for a designated patient group requiring pre operative assessment prior to surgery and/or anaesthesia.
You need to have a live NMC UK pin to be considered for this post.
Duration, Location and Working Pattern
- Full time post working 36 hours, typically over 08 00
- Based within Stobhill ACH
Key Responsibilities
You will deliver high quality, patient centred care by competently undertaking the necessary administrative, technical, invasive and physical aspects of pre operative assessment.
You will ensure effective support is provided to patients and the wider service, maintaining an acceptable standard of care at all times. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe environment for the treatment of patients and the protection of staff, in line with Divisional policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurses on the NMC Register (Part 1 & 12)
- Relevant post registration experience
- Relevant surgical / anaesthetic / theatre nursing experience
- Team leadership / management experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
