Opportunity
Transport Drivers needed for the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Full time (36 hours), part time (4 hours) and bank basis.
Posts and Hours Available
- POST 1: 1x 36 hours, Monday to Friday 7am-5pm (flexible)
- POST 2: 1x 4 hours, Saturday only 11:30am-3:30pm
- POST 3: Bank, zero hours – as and when required
Responsibilities
You will be fully trained in all transport driving duties: laboratories/specimen collections, pharmacy, store goods, patient transport, clinical waste collections, etc. Drivers may work as lone workers, routing across Fife and surrounding areas (Edinburgh & Dundee). Vehicles include cars, vans, minibuses and 3.5 tonne lorries.
You may be required to work at other hospital sites.
Tasks involve physical and manual handling of items such as cages, store goods, medical notes, equipment, furniture, clinical waste bins and laboratory/pharmacy boxes.
You must follow route mapping, timed duty schedules and have good communication skills.
Full department training, one to one coaching, ADR training for clinical waste and attendance at the NHS Fife induction training course are provided. Annual mandatory training and PDP reviews are conducted online.
Qualifications
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Good communication skills and ability to follow route mapping and timed duty schedules.
Additional Requirements
Compliance with NHS Fife induction standards and the Code of Conduct for health care support workers is required. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
