Band 5 Staff Nurse – Balgonie Ward, Cameron Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurses in Balgonie Ward, Cameron Hospital. Balgonie Ward is a Recovery and Adaptation ward which provides rehabilitation for older adults and facilitates complex discharge planning in the Community Hospital setting.

We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse who will develop skills in Medicine of the Elderly and work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and consultant geriatrician to promote a positive patient journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient centred care for older adults in a recovery and adaptation setting.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and consultant geriatrician.
• Plan and coordinate care to facilitate effective discharge.
• Gain and apply skills in Immediate Life Support, Acute Illness Management, IV Medicine Administration, Catheterisation, Venepuncture and dementia care.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Band 5 nursing qualification and current registration.
• Demonstrated interest and motivation for caring for older people.
• Ability to liaise with inter agency colleagues.
• Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before appointment.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom, or suitability for sponsorship, evidenced before application.
