About the Role
Consultant in Geriatric Medicine with a specialist interest in Frailty and Stroke Medicine. The role supports service delivery across the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH).
Shift Pattern & Site
- Monday to Friday
- Based within the Royal Alexandra Hospital; may be moved to Inverclyde Royal Hospital as per the candidate information pack.
Responsibilities
- Deliver consultant led stroke medicine, including participation in the HASU rota at RAH.
- Support acute stroke admissions and stroke outpatient services at IRH.
- Provide comprehensive geriatric assessment within the frailty team on an acute assessment ward at RAH.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high quality, patient centred care across frailty and stroke services.
- Support and improve patient pathways to promote safety, quality and outcomes.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in all aspects of geriatric and stroke medicine. Strong clinical background, excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to various patient needs are required.
