Specialist Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Cardiorespiratory Team, Western General Hospital

Permanent, 36 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist within the Cardiorespiratory team at Western General Hospital. We are looking for a dynamic therapist with excellent leadership, communication skills and advanced clinical assessment and clinical reasoning skills.

It is important that the successful applicant is a team player with a positive outlook, has enthusiasm for the job and is a fast learner.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate therapeutic interventions in the Cardiorespiratory team.
  • Conduct advanced clinical assessments and apply clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans.
  • Provide effective communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Support staff development through appraisal, supervision and CPD opportunities.
  • Commit to weekend working as part of the Occupational Therapy team.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Experience as an Occupational Therapist in a Cardiorespiratory context.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
  • Leadership and communication abilities.
  • Team player, positive outlook, enthusiasm and fast learning ability.
  • Valid PVG Scheme membership/record (regulatory group child and/or adult). If not a current PVG member, an application to Disclosure Scotland must be made and deemed satisfactory before employment.
  • Compliance with criminal records check requirements as of 1 April 2025.
  • Legal permission to work in the UK.
