Role: 13130 – Senior Play Worker Spring Oscars SCOT (Qualified)

Salary: £25,002 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time – 31.25 hours per week

Location: Edinburgh

About Oscars

We offer warm and friendly childcare for children aged 5 to 14 years. Many of our sites are located within the local primary schools fostering close links with the surrounding community.

Hours / Shifts

Full Time Play Worker hours would be Breakfast Club and After School Club, with flexible administration time to create your full working week. The club shifts are:

Breakfast Club – Monday to Friday from 7.15am to 9am

After School Club – Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 6pm, and Friday from 11.30am to 6pm

We can also offer Part Time and Casual roles.

What you’ll be doing

  • Given dedicated daily non-contact time for paperwork & planning exciting activities for our children.
  • Leading the staff within the room on providing learning programmes for individual or groups of children appropriate to their needs and developmental stages in accordance with Early Years legislation and guidance.
  • Ensuring a safe, caring, stimulating and fun environment for all children at the club.
  • Engaging effectively with the children during their time in the club.
  • Planning and taking part in play and leisure activities for children.
  • Assisting with the set up of the club so it’s ready for when the children arrive and that any snacks or breakfasts are prepared in line with healthy eating guidelines.

What we need from you

  • SCQF Level 7 (which is equivalent to SVQ Level 3) or HNC in Childcare and Education or a Playworker qualification.
  • First Aid qualification and Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or the ability to achieve.
  • A real passion to work with children, make a difference and help them thrive.
