Job Description

Specialty Doctor Public Health NHS Lanarkshire – NHSL HQ Kirklands

This post is based within the multi-disciplinary Directorate of Public Health. It provides medical capacity within the Public Health Directorate to support the Health Protection Team and vaccination and immunisation services. The role encompasses all aspects of Health Protection with a focus on complex immunisation clinical assessment, expert vaccination advice, reactive immunisation interventions during incidents or outbreaks of vaccine preventable disease, and tuberculosis (TB) services in particular.

The post is full time, but applications are also welcomed for part time work.

Applicants are encouraged to propose additional Service Package Allocation (SPA) time. In addition to one PA for Non DCC/SPA activities, the Board supports proposals for extra SPA time for individuals with well developed ideas for improving services who demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement, patient safety (including human factors training), medical education, research and development, or acting as an appraiser.

Applicants who wish to commence on more than one PA for SPA duties should discuss proposals with the Recruitment Lead or Service Manager, who will consider requests in line with the successful candidate’s professional and service requirements.

Please note that interview dates for this position are not advertised at the time of posting.
