Job Description

Marine Integrity Engineer – Contractor

Duration: 12 months. Location: Aberdeen, UK. The position is outside IR35; limited companies are invited to apply.

Services will be provided for the duration of the contract and may be amended as required.

Scope of Services

  • Provide specialist marine system engineering support to marine project scopes. Includes:
    • Maintaining the structural and operational integrity of marine asset systems such as offshore platforms, FPSOs, moorings and associated infrastructure.
    • Providing independent technical support to offshore and onshore operations for off load systems, cargo systems, mooring systems, and marine systems.
    • Providing technical support on all aspects of marine integrity, including hull, mooring systems, risers, and marine systems (ballast, bilge, cargo offloading systems, etc.).
    • Developing scopes of work (SOW) for routine inspection and repair campaigns.
  • Provide general guidance and recommendations for:
    • Classification Society requirements for marine system modifications, maintaining certifications and class status.
    • Statutory and regulatory compliance with local and international marine regulatory standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class rules, API).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain marine integrity management systems and strategies. Includes:
    • Performing and developing risk based inspection (RBI) assessments for marine structures and systems.
    • Reviewing and interpreting inspection and monitoring data (e.g., NDT, CP surveys, UT, visual inspections).
    • Ensuring integrity of hull, mooring systems, risers, and associated marine equipment.
    • Overseeing anomaly management inspections including in water surveys, hull thickness measurements, and corrosion monitoring.
    • Preparing and maintaining marine integrity reports, inspection findings, and action tracking logs.

Services should be provided to enable production of the following deliverables where required as part of project specific works and purchase orders.

Key Deliverables

  • Statements of Requirements for marine projects and work scopes.
  • Development of work packs.
  • Marine contractor and vendor assessments and recommendations.
  • Review of engineering designs, drawings, and documentation to ensure marine integrity requirements are met.
  • Maintenance of integrity and maintenance (PM/PMA) databases and interface with CMMS (Maximo).
  • Conducting root cause failure analysis and supporting the development of corrective action plans.
  • Preparation and issue of survey reports.
