Housing Support Worker
Salary: £25,949 per annum/pro rata
Location: Dundee, Scotland
Contract / Hours: Full Time Permanent – 37 hours per week & Casual 0 hour contract available. 5 week rolling rota which includes evening and weekends.

Responsibilities
- Maintain effective working relationships and communication channels with colleagues, young people and families, encouraging involvement to achieve positive outcomes
- Be alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and report concerns to line managers in line with safeguarding policies and procedures
- Participate in regular supervision sessions and practice meetings to maintain a cohesive approach, and undertake training as identified
- Maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of all working areas, including kitchen and bathroom areas
- Ensure familiarity and compliance with relevant Action for Children policies and procedures and work as part of the Dundee Youth Housing Service team
- Work towards GIRFEC outcomes and comply with Health and Social Care Standards and the SSSC Code of conduct
- Enable young people to develop independent living skills and sustain tenancy
- There may be a requirement for sleepovers depending on service requirements
Qualifications
- S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in health and social care
- Knowledge and awareness of prevention and homelessness intervention methods
- Ability to keep young people as the focus of all work and ensure the young person’s feelings and wishes are represented in meetings and record keeping
- Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service
