Job Description

Overview

Making quicker progress towards your goals starts with downloading the Amazon Flex mobile app. Once you’ve downloaded the app, set up your account, and passed a background check, you can look for delivery driving opportunities that are convenient for you. Open the Amazon Flex app to search for available delivery blocks in your area. With every offer, you’ll see your expected earnings and how long we estimate your block is likely to take you to complete.

What happens on a block

The day of your block, head to your designated Amazon location as directed in the app. This could be an Amazon depot, warehouse, supermarket or an Amazon Now pickup location where you will pick up packages, or groceries and fresh food, for delivery. Then, using the Amazon Flex app as guidance, navigate to each destination and deliver parcels wherever you go. You can substitute blocks to someone you know who meets the eligibility requirements if you prefer, even if they are not registered with Amazon Flex.

Earnings and payments

Once your deliveries are complete, you will be paid for your delivery services. As a self-employed delivery driver you will get paid by Amazon Flex via direct deposit once a week, which you can track in the Earnings section within the Amazon Flex app. Find out more about earnings and payments via the button below.

Requirements

  • For car deliveries: you will need a valid UK driving licence, a mid-size or larger vehicle, a smartphone, be eligible to work in the UK, and have valid commercial vehicle insurance.
  • For e-bike deliveries: you will need a battery-operated e-bike that meets all applicable laws and safety requirements without any unlawful modifications, a smartphone, and be eligible to work in the UK.
  • E-bike must meet all Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) standards and legal requirements without any unlawful modifications.

Onboarding and what to expect

Before making your first delivery, check out the Resource Portal in the main menu of the Amazon Flex app for tips on how to prepare for your block and to get answers to commonly asked questions. You can also watch videos that share helpful tips on how to deliver at any time.

  1. Reserve a block.
  2. Open the Amazon Flex app to search for available delivery blocks. View earnings and estimated block duration. Blocks are typically between 1 and 4 hours.
  3. Head to the delivery station at the designated time to pick up your packages. Follow in-app directions to the pickup area.
  4. Scan each package as you load them into your vehicle and use the app to navigate to delivery locations if desired.
  5. Refer to the Resource Portal for tips and answers to questions as you begin delivering.

Note: Earnings estimates are based on location and a typical number of packages per block. If Amazon Flex introduces blocks delivered by scooters or other transportation modes, different rates may apply. Actual delivery time per package may vary, so earnings per hour may vary.
