About the Practice

Marnock Medical Group is a long established Medical Practice which has delivered General Medical Services since 1970 to a patient population in Kilmarnock and its surrounding areas, our list size now sits at over 19,000 patients. We have two sites-one based in Kilmarnock and a lovely village surgery in Kilmaurs. We have on site parking at both sites.

Job Summary

We are looking for a 6 month locum to ease the busy winter period from September 2026 to March 2027, with a view to a permanent position with us.

Team and Services

We are fully staffed with 8 GP Partners, 6 salaried GPs, a Group Manager, a Branch Manager, a Nurse Manager, an Admin Supervisor, two Clinical Pharmacists, 3 ANPs, 3 Practice Nurses, two HCAs and an experienced Administration Team of 26. We also have a fantastic multidisciplinary team including District Nurses, Health Visitors, 4 CTAC staff, an Advanced Physiotherapist, 2 Mental Health Practitioners, a Community Connector, and a pharmacotherapy team of 8.

We have a weekly clinical meeting on Monday and regular PBSGL sessions for all clinical staff. We are also a training practice and train FY2, ST1s and ST3s.

We are located just a few minutes’ drive from the Grassyards Interchange off the A77, within 20 minutes’ drive of the southside of Glasgow and five minutes’ drive from Crosshouse Hospital.

Responsibilities

The role will involve normal clinical duties: on call, occasional home visits, acute and repeat prescribing, Registrar tutorials, and working at our branch surgery on a rota basis. We are an EMIS and Docman practice.
