Yard Assistant
Job Description
Hours – 37.5 hours
We are seeking a Yard and Goods In Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Keeping the premises clean and tidy, cleaning down hire equipment ready for delivery.
- Loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Check over off hired equipment on their return and report any damages, fuel lever and hours used to the hire desk.
- Ensuring the yard is kept in an orderly and organised safe manner with attention to Health & Safety of customers and staff.
- Dealing with the loading and off-loading of vehicles and checking that deliveries have the correct paperwork.
Qualifications
- There will be a lot of outside working in the company’s yard and will be physical at times.
- Full UK driving licence – preferably clean Licence
- Good customer service skills when dealing with customers and colleagues.
- Be able to multitask as you will be required to unload or load a customer machine at any time.
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
- Good communicator and team player.
- Organised and methodical.
