Job Description

Sonardyne is seeking a Workshop Technician to join the Aberdeen team, supporting the repair, service, calibration and hire of company equipment. Working within the Workshop and Warehouse function, this role is key to ensuring equipment is delivered to the highest quality standards and within agreed timescales.

This is a hands on technical position, suited to an individual with strong fault finding ability, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

If you join, you will be :

  • Undertaking repair, service and calibration of company equipment, including component level work
  • Preparing accurate hire and repair quotations and maintaining records within ERP systems
  • Managing workload priorities to meet quality standards and delivery deadlines
  • Liaising with customers to provide technical updates and support, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
  • Supporting and guiding a Trainee Workshop Technician in day to day activities
  • Contributing to weekly reporting and operational updates for the Workshop Supervisor
  • Escalating technical or operational issues where required and supporting resolution
  • Ensuring compliance with company quality processes and procedures
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within workshop operations
  • Carrying out on site work globally, including offshore, on vessels, rigs and customer premises

Ideally we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly and equipment servicing
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Experience carrying out repair, service and calibration activities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication skills and a customer focused approach
  • Ability to lift equipment (up to 25kg)
  • Willingness to travel, including offshore work
  • Experience working with Sonardyne products
  • HNC/HND in Electronics or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
  • Technical curiosity and a proactive approach to improvement
  • Full UK driving licence
