Location: East Baton Rouge Parish School System Reports To: School Principal / Magnet Programs Office

Position Summary

The Magnet Site Coordinator supports the implementation, promotion, and daily operation of the school’s magnet program. This role serves as a liaison between the school, district magnet office, families, and community partners to ensure program fidelity, student recruitment, and overall program success.

Key Responsibilities Program Implementation & Support

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the magnet program at the school site
  • Ensure alignment with district magnet themes, goals, and compliance requirements
  • Support teachers in integrating magnet themes into instruction and activities
  • Monitor program quality and assist with continuous improvement efforts

Student Recruitment & Retention

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student population
  • Organize school tours, open houses, and recruitment events
  • Maintain communication with prospective and current families
  • Track enrollment trends and support retention initiatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the school and the district magnet office
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and community partners
  • Coordinate partnerships with local businesses, colleges, and organizations
  • Promote the magnet program through newsletters, social media, and community outreach

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of student applications, enrollment, and program data
  • Prepare reports related to program effectiveness and compliance
  • Assist with audits and evaluations of the magnet program

Event Planning & Program Promotion

  • Plan and coordinate magnet showcases, exhibitions, and special events
  • Support student activities that highlight the magnet theme
  • Represent the school at district and community events

Qualifications Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred)
  • Experience in K-12 education, program coordination, or school administration preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data tracking and basic reporting tools
  • Knowledge of magnet programs or specialized curricula preferred

Working Conditions

  • School-based position with occasional evening or weekend events
  • May require travel within the district for meetings and recruitment activities
