What’s the Job?

We’re looking for a talented Engineering SVQ Assessor to join the Commercial Skills Delivery Team on a 35 hour per week permanent contract. The engineering assessor team are responsible for delivering Scottish Vocational Qualifications in a range of different engineering disciplines:

  • Maintenance Mechanical
  • Maintenance Electrical
  • Mechanical Manufacturing
  • CNC Machining
  • Fabrication & Welding

The Skills Delivery Team is responsible for delivering certificated and bespoke professional courses, SVQs, MAs and Open Learning courses in a college that aims to be one step ahead.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a person with a relevant engineering qualification and recent experience of working in an engineering environment. Experience as an assessor is not essential as full training and certification will be provided.

To succeed in the role, you will have some or all the following:

  • Educated to a minimum of SCQF Level 7 in a relevant engineering subject.
  • Experience of working in an engineering environment is essential.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills are required to manage a portfolio of candidates.
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using Office 365 and any job specific software/systems.
