Job Description

Family Intervention Practitioner

Salary: £26,006.84 per annum

Location: Glasgow (North East)

Contract/Hours: Permanent and 12 month fixed term contracts available. Full time – 37 hours per week, with some evening and weekend work required. Rota includes one weekend in four.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out clear and thorough assessments of each family’s needs, strengths and challenges. Provide intensive support through advice, guidance, parenting help, one to one work with children and regular communication with partner agencies.
  • Plan and deliver focused support for families, review progress and help them overcome barriers that may be affecting their wellbeing. Attend meetings and work closely with other professionals to advocate for children and families.
  • Work within a multi disciplinary team, building strong relationships with families and partner services.

Qualifications

  • SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.
  • Post qualification experience working with children, young people and families, achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention.
  • Experience with vulnerable families and a broad understanding of their barriers.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing methods of assessment and interventions.
  • Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Competent in report writing and using computer software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Teams and Outlook.
  • Driving licence and access to a car. Must be able to travel as required, with reasonable adjustments if needed under the Equality Act.
